The Northeast Asian Studies College "Survey on Japanese Youth's Perception of Chinese Image" research program launched in Japan
On November 5th2018, at the invitation of the Sea of Japan Economic Studies College, the Northeast Asian Studies College"Travel and Know Japan" delegation arrived in Niigata, Japan, and began the 8-day "Japanese Youth’s Perception of Chinese Image" research program.
In order to broaden the international vision of our students, to understand Japanese youth's attention and their understanding of China's national image in the new era, and to conduct the cultural exchanges between China and Japan, the Northeast AsianStudies College organized this research program.
The "Travel and Know Japan" delegation is headed by four teachers of the Northeast Asian Studies College, and 15 PhD and master students joined. On the day of their arrival in Niigata, the visiting group held an opening ceremony at the Japan Sea Economic Studies College. Director of ERINA gave the first lecture for the delegation. During the following days, Professor from the Faculty of Law of Niigata University and Associate Professor from the Faculty of Economics gave lectures to introduce the main characteristics of current Japanese society and the channels for disseminating Chinese-related information in Japan. Besides the lectures, the delegation and students of Niigata University had lively discussions on topics such as Sino-Japanese relations and Sino-Japanese economic cooperation.
During their stay in Japan, the delegation visited well-known universities and studies colleges such as the Japan Sea Economic Studies College, Niigata University, Ritsumeikan University, Doshisha University, etc., and learnt about the mutual understanding of China and Japan through cooperation with Japanese students and researchers. In addition, the delegation also visitedlocal chambers of commerce and industry and Chinese associations in Japan to further understand the characteristics of Japanese culture and social operations.
