Jilin University successfully held an academic seminar to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the conclusion of the Sino-Japanese Treaty of Peace and Friendship and to build a new era of Sino-Japanese relations
In October 1978, the exchange of ratification of the Sino-Japanese Treaty of Peace and Friendship took effect, realizing the normalization of Sino-Japanese diplomatic relations. On the occasion of the 40th anniversary of the normalization of diplomatic relations between China and Japan, and in the context of the improvement of Sino-Japanese relations in the new era, how to learn from the historical lessons of Sino-Japanese relations, promote economic cooperation between China and Japan, and open up a new situation in the history of Sino-Japanese relations is a major issue that needs to be faced.
On September 4th, 2018 Northeast Asian Studies College , Northeast Asian Research Center of Jilin University, and the Research Center of Japanese Invasion of China of Jilin University held this conference in Changchun to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the China-Japan Treaty of Peace and Friendship. More than 30 scholars from China and Japan, teachers and students attended the seminar. The meeting conducted discussions on how to transcend history to build Sino-Japanese relations in a new era, and how to promote Sino-Japanese cooperation in the face of the threat of trade protectionism and unilateralism in the world.
At this meeting, Chinese and Japanese scholars reached a consensus on how to promote the development of Sino-Japanese relations and Sino-Japanese cooperation under the situation of intensified world trade friction, which further promoted Sino-Japanese academic exchanges and promoted the in-depth development of related research.
